PillDrill Review

Thanks for my ADHD I struggle with remembering to take pills and then we never fully know how effective they are. So I’m trialling the PillDrill to see if that gives me good habits.

PillDrill Hub, mood cube and pill holders
PillDrill Hub, mood cube and pill holders

The PillDrill comes with a “hub” an AM/PM pill holder, a “mood cube” and several scanning attachments and holder. What is new about this as the pill holders and tags (and cube) are scannable on the hub. So not only does the hub alarm and light up when something is due (and says what) but you scan the pill box or the tag you have put on items (I have one tag on my ventolin and and injectable). Then this shuts up the alarm and logs you have taken and what. It does have an app which you can use when not at home.

One added benefit I don’t use is that it can message someone if you take your meds or forget them. Which can be great for those who have memory issues and someone to help them but don’t live together. That way you can see they have logged it (it’s assumed they didn’t just scan and ignored the meds).

You also have an extra step you can add with the mood cube. Another scannable item which you pick how you feel and log that. The app also allows you to insert symptoms each day which you can then track how your mood is going and symptoms. This could be helpful with new meds to see any trend changes.

Likes:

looks like a fancy clock rather than medical

Extra activity to get me up and holding the pill box to shut the alarm off/up more likely to take the pills

Alarm keeps going till you get up and do it.

Reminder for those adhd/memory impaired among us

No subscription! This was important

Cost was ok - wasn’t excessive compared to other choices that was electronic.

Fast delivery

Easy to setup if you have basic knowledge (can log into your Internet) and can use an app. This might be harder for older people/cognitive issues.

Improvements:

Magnets holding the AM/PM containers together would help and some way so you don’t need the bad to hold all the pill boxes down.

More colours!

Ability to change the alarm noise to something else. It’s quiet is also quite loud.

Symptom Cube would be cool.

Better options for meds that less frequent than weekly (monthly shots etc).

I have no affiliation or get anything. I’m just sharing to share.

I’m all over the place and I still have a lot of things to catch up on that I haven’t discussed with the diagnosis and medical mysteries....
